Son of Anubis

For countless millennium Anubis god of death and death ceremonies had served under Osiris and Isis. Ever since they had found him Anubis had been unhappy. Anubis knew little about his past and what he did know was of little importance. Even at best of time Anubis was unhappy.
As time passed and the gods of old were forgotten by evolving humans Anubis found him self alone. Osiris and Isis left to live among the new breed of humans called automorphics or anthros for short. Even Amity the devourer had left him going with Isis and Osiris hidden in thee form of a lion cub anthro.  Left alone in the palace in the lake of fire Anubis was more miserable then ever.
Alone in this palace without friends or family Anubis was truly miserable.
Anubis awoke in his chambers as he would any morning. After bathing and changing into an Egyptian kilt and crown Anubis left fore the hall of judgment. Ever Osiris had left Anubis had taken over as king of the dead. In ancient times there would be a line of soul's waiting for Anubis to pass judgment on them, but in recent centuries Anubis would be lucky to see a soul once every decade or so.
As Anubis entered the hall of judgment he saw that some on was already there. At first Anubis thought it was a soul come fore judgment but on further examination he realized it was some thing else. At first glance Anubis thought it was the soul of a young woman but saw that she was dressed in an Egyptian robe and sported a pair of white dove wings.
The women bowed and smiled upon looking back up at the anthro jackal god. "Greetings lord of death. Forgive me for my unannounced arrival, but I bring you good news and warm greetings and a gift from the god Ra," said the messenger. The women spoke a word that Anubis could not understand. The hall was filled with a light so bright that Anubis was forced to look away.
When the light faded Anubis turned and saw that a young anthro cat lade in the hall. The lynx was dressed in an Egyptian kilt with a gold belt around the waist. As Anubis approached the sleeping anthro he vaguely heard the messenger say "Ra has heard of the sadness you have felt and gives you this child in hope that he may be a ray of light for you." Anubis knelt and gently picked up the sleeping child. For the first in his existence the jackal god felt like crying.
Never be for had he ever be given a gift that brought him such joy. Anubis bowed and thanked the messenger. The messenger smiled and vanished in a flash of light. Anubis looked down at the sleeping feline and said "I'll name Ran because you are the ray of sunshine the god Ra gave, who reached mu dark kingdom and filled my life with light! You will be my son!"
